Birdsview Raises €2.5M Seed to Replace B2C Retention Tools and the Agency Services Behind It in Retail.
Avys runs an online retailer’s customer communication end to end, writing an individual message to every customer rather than to a segment to increase repeat purchases. Fortino Ventures and Newion lead the round.
Leipzig, Germany – 08.07.2026 Birdsview today announced a €2.5 million seed round to scale Avys, an AI Agent that runs an online retailer’s messaging channels end to end – the work that normally requires an in-house team or an outside agency. The round is led by Fortino Ventures, the firm behind Billy Grace, one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure platforms for digital marketeers in the Benelux and Newion, an early backer of Parloa, now a billion-dollar AI agent company. Backed initially by TGFS in its pre-seed phase, the company has successfully secured further international support.
Retailers depend on repeat purchases, and direct messaging channels like email remain the most reliable channel for bringing customers back. But while customer acquisition costs have risen 222% in eight years, the software most retailers rely on for retention hasn’t fundamentally changed. It still leaves the actual work to a person.
The double spend
Traditional email software provides the tools but leaves the work to the user; someone must still segment customers, establish delivery rules, and craft the actual message content. This gets increasingly complicated with growing product catalogs. So many retailers hire an agency to run it, typically at three to five times the price of the software license. They pay twice: once for the tool, once for the people to make it useful. And even with a full agency team, the math caps out at managing customer segments. Nobody is writing to each customer individually – there aren’t enough hours.
Birdsview argues the problem persists by design. Agencies are the incumbents’ largest sales channel – by the company’s estimate, roughly 40% of revenue. A vendor that automated the agency away would be dismantling its own distribution, which is why, in Birdsview’s view, the companies selling the tooling have little incentive to change it.
What Avys does
Avys is built to do that work itself. It reads a retailer’s catalog the way an experienced marketer would, decides what to say to each customer and when, and writes an individual email in the brand’s voice – addressing customers one at a time rather than in broad segments.
What Birdsview considers difficult to copy is the layer beneath the agentic decisions. Rather than treating a product as a name and a price, Avys models how each item relates to the rest of the catalog, what need it satisfies, which angle sells it, and how soon a customer is likely to need it again. The company built this product-intelligence layer alongside its first hundred customers and says it now spans 1.2 million labeled products across 60 industries, learning from 52 million email interactions a month. Birdsview’s position is that the data can’t simply be bought, and grows more valuable with every customer added.
The results
Birdsview reports that brands using Avys see 3x more clicks and 8x more revenue per email. And well established market leaders in retail have replaced both their email tool and their agency with it.

“Avys isn’t a better tool – it’s the worker. We started Birdsview after running a CRM agency ourselves, the exact business model Avys is built to make obsolete. We lived inside this problem for years, and now we’re ending it. The future of CRM isn’t better tooling for humans to work faster – it’s an agent that does the work.”

“Birdsview’s agentic solution empowers retailers with a revenue generator on auto-pilot – making legacy SaaS and agency services redundant. I am excited to be partnering with Ozan and Tim as they disrupt the $56Bn retention SaaS and services market.”
Quote – Dorus Olgers, Partner, Newion
“Most online retailers are still leaving significant value untapped by relying on static, rule-based systems for customer communication. Birdsview helps unlock this potential by extracting more value from the existing customer base, and it is impressive how quickly it can demonstrate ROI. Retailers often see measurable uplift within days to weeks, as even small improvements in repeat purchase rates or reactivation of dormant customers compound rapidly across the entire customer base.”
