Money20/20, the Dutch Central Bank and Government Partners Convene Global Fintech Leaders in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM – June 1, 2026 – Money20/20, the world’s leading fintech show and the place where money does business, today announced it is co-hosting an exclusive, invitation-only fintech forum with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB), the Dutch Ministry of Finance and Techleap. The event, “Welcome to the Netherlands: Fintech Forum,” will take place on June 1 at De Nederlandsche Bank, ahead of Money20/20 Europe in Amsterdam (June 2–4).

The forum will convene approximately 50 international fintech leaders, investors and innovators looking to enter or expand within the Dutch and wider European market. The gathering will showcase why the Netherlands has emerged as one of Europe’s leading destinations for fintech innovation, growth and collaboration.

“The Netherlands has established itself as one of Europe’s most dynamic fintech ecosystems, combining regulatory sophistication, world-class digital infrastructure and direct access to European markets,” said Bryony Naylor, VP of Money20/20 Europe. “By bringing together industry leaders, regulators, policymakers and investors, this forum creates meaningful opportunities for collaboration and gives international fintech companies a unique introduction to the people and institutions shaping the future of financial services in Europe.”

During the forum, Money20/20 will present insights into the current state of fintech, highlighting key trends, opportunities and challenges shaping the European financial services landscape. The event will facilitate direct dialogue between international fintech companies and Dutch financial institutions, regulators and government stakeholders, helping create pathways for market entry and long-term growth.

“The Netherlands continues to attract ambitious fintech companies from around the world because of its strong innovation ecosystem, highly skilled workforce and strategic position within Europe,” said Hilde van der Meer, Commissioner of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. “We are delighted to welcome global fintech leaders to Amsterdam for this event and showcase the opportunities available for companies looking to establish and scale their European operations.”

“By bringing together innovators, policymakers and financial institutions, we help foster dialogue”, said De Nederlandsche Bank chair of supervision Steven Maijoor. “While our roles differ – from supervisor to entrepreneur – we share a common goal: a stable, safe and thriving financial system. Fintechs need supervisors for trust and stability; supervisors need fintechs for innovation and dynamism.”

The forum represents a strategic collaboration between public and private sector leaders committed to strengthening the Netherlands’ position as a fintech innovation hub and facilitating cross-border collaboration across the European financial services ecosystem.

“Fintech innovation plays an important role in strengthening the Netherlands’ competitiveness and advancing the future of financial services,” said  Irma Dollen, deputy director of Financial Markets for the Dutch Ministry of Finance. “This forum demonstrates the value of collaboration between government, regulators and industry leaders in creating an environment where innovation can thrive responsibly.”

The event precedes Money20/20 Europe, which returns to Amsterdam June 2–4, 2026, bringing together the global fintech community to explore the future of money, payments, banking, financial services and commerce.
