Michael Widjaja appointed to the Advisory Board of Connaxis

Buenos Aires, October the 6th *** Michael Widjaja, Partner with Accenture, was appointed to the Advisory Board of Connaxis on October the 6th. Peter van Grinsven, Managing Director of Connaxis: ‘Our vision is to become a market leader in building and managing successful web applications. After a period of rapid expansion we have reached the size and maturity that prompted us to start looking for Advisory Board members who can help strengthening Connaxis’ long term strategy. Michael Widjaja fits the bill. His experience at Accenture and his hands on approach as investor is exactly what we were looking for. We are very happy that Michael Widjaja has accepted the invitation to join our Advisory Board.’
Connaxis counts 54 employees with half of its employees being professionals who immigrated from Europe and US to Argentina. These professionals are instrumental in bridging the language and cultural gaps between Connaxis’ international clientele and local employees. Michael Widjaja commented: “Connaxis multi-cultural workforce combined with its approach to outsourcing, managing projects and nurturing client relationships shows that the company reached the next level of market maturity and needs to start focusing on expansion of its base. In addition, Connaxis also develops Guerra-Creativa.com which is the largest designer and creative community platform in Latin America with very strong growth potential. I accepted the nomination as member of Connaxis’advisory board to help and advise in these matters.”
‘We have seen a constant influx of people with university degrees from Europe and North America. They enjoy the climate and the culture here in Argentina. Many technology companies, like Connaxis, provide a suitable local employment for these do-it-yourself expats’ says Piet Verdult, Chairman of the Dutch Argentine Chamber of Commerce.
Brit Ernest, Marketing and Support Manager at Connaxis came to Argentina in 2009. She left her job as Product Manager Nivea at Beiersdorf in Europe to look for an international challenge before settling down. Both she and her husband fell in love with Argentina and decided to stay. ‘After traveling through South America we found the Argentine climate and culture very appealing and we knew that once in our lives we wanted to live in Buenos Aires. Finding a job that matches my studies and former background completed the dream. At Connaxis we work with a multi-cultural team of people on challenging projects for international companies like Time Out, Rockwool, Schüco, and Terremark. This way I enjoy life, get to know another culture and grow as a professional at the same time’ comments Brit Ernest.
Connaxis shows a wide variety of international backgrounds as the internet makes it possible to work in a multi-cultural working environment from anywhere.
