Appsterdam taking on Sydney in iOSDevCamp

iOSDevCamp: global simultaneous events
iOSDevCamp is an annual not-for-profit competition in which teams develop applications for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Both Amsterdam and Sydney are holding satellite events in concurrence with the one in San Jose, CA. All events will take place at the same time: July 20-22. iOSDevCamp in Amsterdam is organized by Appsterdam and hosted by co-working concept BounceSpace, at Weteringschans 28, Amsterdam (former Booking.com building). It will start Friday July 20 at 17:00. On Sunday July 22 at 19:00 the local winning app gets submitted to iOSDevCamp HQ in San Jose. And at 02:00 in Amsterdam, we’ll know what satellite event built the greatest app.

Day-by-day: a quick overview of the weekend
The weekend will be led by San Francisco-based developer and hackathon veteran Dirk de Kok (CEO/founder Mobtest, inc.). Friday evening participants will be welcomed and there will be pitches, mingling, and team-forming opportunities. On Saturday the teams will be hacking all day and Sunday the teams have a few hours to finish hacking on their apps and video demos. A jury will determine which app will be submitted to iOSDevCamp in San Jose, including the video demo and code repository, to ultimately compete against Sydney’s greatest app. Apps don’t need to be finished by the end of the weekend. They just need to kick ass. Also, iOSDevCamp has plenty of opportunities to gain bonus points, like open-sourcing the source code of the app. Read the Rules at iOSDevCamp.com or the full schedule at Meetup.com.

Anyone is welcome to join and contribute
Appsterdam is about sharing and collaboration. As at all Appsterdam events, developers, designers, marketeers, or anyone interested in the smell of nerd sweat and the power of collaboration are more than welcome to join us at this iOSDevCamp event. People with no development skills can join a team and contribute input, help create the video demo, give feedback on designs, or be a cheerleader for a team. They can even help create a highlights reel of the entire weekend which we\’ll put up on the Appsterdam YouTube channel for the world to see.
