UvA Startup Challenge Awards 2016

In 2016, Innovation Exchange Amsterdam, university incubator ACE Venture lab and UvA Holding will organize the first UvA-wide startup pitching competition in collaboration with student organizations. Each UvA faculty will host their own in-house battle to pre-select the best student startup teams. All faculty winners will come together for the final epic “UvA-battle” later this year.

Student organizations will be in charge of organizing the faculty competitions. Applications for each competition will be reviewed by a team of expert judges, to select the most promising student startup ideas. Selected students will additionally receive a day of coaching by experts and mentors, in preparation for their finale pitches. Each faculty winner will be awarded a €1000,- cheque. The best overall UvA student startup idea will receive €5000,-! Prize money is sponsored by UvA Holding.

The first faculty competitions are planned for 10 May, by the student organization of Economics and Business (SEFA) and 11 May, by the student organization of Informatics (VIA). More dates will be announced soon.
