Nedap mede-oprichter van de Open Security Standard Association

Groenlo, maandag 23 november 2015 – Nedap heeft recentelijk de Open Security Standard (OSS) Association mede-opgericht. De OSS Association richt zich op de ontwikkeling van open standaarden op het gebied van beveiliging en omvat ook de Europese marktleiders ACS, Assa Abloy, Datasec, Deister, dorma+kaba group, primion, Uhlmann & Zacher en Zugang GmbH.

Het eerste aandachtspunt van de OSS is de ontwikkeling van een standaard voor offline sloten; de OSS Standard Offline. Dit is een open standaard voor de uitwisseling van ‘Data on Card’ offline toegangscontrolesystemen. Het doel van de Standard Offline is ervoor te zorgen dat klanten de online en offline componenten van hun eigen keuze naadloos in één geïntegreerd toegangscontrolesysteem kunnen combineren.

Er is een groot aantal verschillende merken offline elektronische sloten op de markt. Offline sloten zijn niet met een kabel verbonden aan een toegangscontrolesysteem, maar werken autonoom en worden gevoed door een batterij. Het slot leest de toegangsrechten vanaf een compatibele kaart. Die kaart wordt geschreven door een toegangscontrolesysteem zoals AEOS van Nedap en bevat instructies om een slot te openen of gesloten te houden.

Tot voor kort had elke fabrikant van offline sloten en toegangscontrolesystemen een eigen aanpak voor het lezen en schrijven van de kaarten. Met de OSS Standard Offline lezen en interpreteren sloten van verschillende fabrikanten de toegangsrechten van een kaart op een gestandaardiseerde manier. Wanneer klanten offline sloten en toegangscontrolesystemen installeren die voldoen aan de OSS Standard Offline, is de werking gegarandeerd.

Vroeger waren Assa Abloy, Nedap en Zugang GmbH lid van de SOAA e.g., eveneens een standaard voor offline sloten. Zij hebben zich recentelijk verenigd in de Open Security Standard Association om een krachtige en professionele samenwerking te realiseren. De OSS Standard Offline is volledig compatibel met de SOAA standaard.
