Meer weerstand tegen internet of things
Internet of things kan rekenen op weerstand. Dat stelt in elk geval onderzoek van Toluna, dat duizend Britse consumenten ondervroeg. Die weerstand is ten opzichte van de vorige peiling met 14 procent gestegen.
Ongeveer de helft vindt dat ze niet nog meer technologie in hun omgeving kunnen verdragen. Bij de laatste peiling ging het om 33 procent. 35 procent is niet bereid een nieuwe technologie onder de knie te krijgen, nog eens 45 procent vreest dat er iets mis zal gaan. 67 procent noemt beveiliging als grootste zorg, en betrouwbaarheid wordt door 62 procent genoemd.
De weerstand komt wellicht ook voort uit onwetendheid: veel respondenten zijn niet bekend met de term internet of things. 39 procent zag toepassingen in de gezondheidszorg wel zitten. Fitness en auto’s lijken eveneens een logisch toepassingsgebied.
